Archive entry: Continuing education program: "The hackers are coming"
In an age of growing digitalization, more and more value is placed on information technology (IT). Of central importance here is the secure use of computers, mobile devices and the Internet, whether for private or work purposes. To increase awareness of the potential dangers, you are cordially invited to a free continuing education lecture organized by TUM with the support of the Bavarian IT Planning Council (bayerische IT-Planungsbeirat):
"The hackers are coming"
Tuesday, November 11, 2014
10:15 am to 1:00 pm
TUM Audimax (0509.EG.980)
Using an entertaining approach that even the non-expert can understand, the instructors show how hackers operate these days, illustrating the dangers for both work and home environments. With a moderator coordinating the program, two "hackers" demonstrate just how easy it is to penetrate IT systems, gain access to third-party data, listen in on conversations or manipulate Internet pages. Apart from the risks, the participants also learn about preventive measures and the right way to work with IT systems. The moderator concludes the program by discussing actual security incidents and various ways to securely manage e-mails, passwords and mobile devices.
The program is designed for all employees who work with computers, mobile devices and/or the Internet on a regular basis.
We look forward to seeing you and your team at this informative and entertaining event.
