What to do if your computer is infected?
Despite implementing preventive measures, malicious programs can still infect your computer. If this happens to you, please follow these basic rules:
Disconnect computer from the network
Remove the infected computer from the network as soon as possible (remove network cable, deactivate the WiFi network).
Backup your data and re-install the computer
Backup your data and re-install the computer with an up-to-date operating system, or contact the system administrator for your department or organizational unit.
Change passwords
Change all of your passwords as soon as possible. If you use these same passwords for online services, change these as well.
Report serious incidents
Please report serious security violations to the TUM central IT security notification center.
