This email is authentic. Whoever received it, should change his password for the Adobe services and all other services for which the same account data (user name and password) were used.
Why is this not a phishing email?
- This email is targeted toward a private email address.
- This email was written in proper business English.
- The recipient was informed that the Adobe account was hacked and that the user name and password were stolen.
- The recipient should set a new password for the Adobe website.
- The email originates from "Adobe Support."
- Max Mustermann has an Adobe.com account, which makes this email relevant.
This email clearly illustrates how problematic it is to explain the potential danger to a user. Always check to see if you have an account with the service in question. If you are not sure if you have an account there, do not click on the link in the email. Instead, go directly to the website.
