How Do I Access the Central Storage Using Mac OS?

Supported Versions of Mac OS

Officially supported is Mac OS X 10.4 or higher. Other versions (eg. Mac OS X 10.3) work as well, but are not supported.

Connecting a Drive under Mac OS X

You can use the function „Connect to server...“ in the Finder. Enter the address of the central storage with a smb://-prefix, eg. smb://nas.ads.mwn.de/ne23mek. Finally you have to enter TUM ID password.

You can store the password in the Mac OS X keyring.

Mac OS X can create links under the CIFS protocol (please note that these links are only usable under Mac OS X). Furthermore Mac file systems do not distinguish between upper and lower case.
