Ideas Contest - Raising Awareness on IT Security

IT security slogans. You’ve heard them before and they bore you.

But what about a slogan or motif that

  • appeals to you and your fellow students?
  • adds a humorous touch, and also speaks to non-IT people?
  • gets you thinking about IT security?

Imagine we printed your slogan/motif on a T-shirt or poster: Would it grab your fellow students' attention? Would they read it, think about it, or even talk about it?

If the answer is yes, send us your slogan/motif and win a T-shirt with your design. You can choose any color and size.

Entry deadline and conditions of participation

The closing date to submit your idea is May 31, 2014.

You can send your idea via our Web registration form or by regular mail to:

Technische Universität München
IT-Management
Angelika Müller
Arcisstr. 21
80333 München

Please make sure to include the following information:

  • Contact details (name, address, e-mail and - if you’d like -  your field of study)
  • Your idea: motif or slogan (preferably as a PNG or PDF)
  • Any comments you may want to add
  • A declaration of originality / declaration of consent for data storage (please use this form)

Participation is open to all students, guests, and employees of the Munich institutions of higher education.

In order for us to be able to use your idea, we require from you a right of use (in legal terms: a "right to use") - i.e., we have the right to print your slogan/motif on T-shirts, posters, or other marketing materials and to publish it on our webpages. Participation and chances of winning are not dependent on the transfer of right to use.

With regard to data privacy:

Your personal data will only be used for this Ideas Contest. This means we save your data until the competition has ended (up to and including notification of the winners and shipment of T-shirts).

We would like to publish the winning slogan/motif on our website - including your name, if you give us your consent.

If you are not among the winners, we would appreciate your consent to include your idea in a pool for further awareness-raising campaigns. You will surely have great ideas that may not quite be what we are looking for now, but could perhaps be of use in a different context. Therefore, we would like to be able to contact you at a later date, should your idea become relevant after the competition. Your idea and your personal data will be deleted after the contest if we do not have your written consent.

Our full data privacy policy (including contact information concerning your right to object to disclosure) can be found under Data Privacy Policy: Idea Contest.
